~ Spud ~

We want to introduce you to the newest memfur of our furamily ~ Spud. His
birthday is June 6, 2000. We selected him from the Lake County Animal Shelter
in Mentor Ohio. This is where his brofur and sisfur were selected from also.
We stopped in to see who was looking for a home and he put his little paw out
between the bars of his cage. After completing the paperwork, we brought him
home. Scully and Fox were not sure about him at first and Scully is still
having problems adjusting to him!! She will come around and she is getting
better. Fox, on the other hand, has become Spud's buddy.

Our Spud won his first contest in the Kitten Gallery for the month of January
at 'The Cats Corner'. This contest was for kittens. We think our kitten is the
cutest in the land!! We wish to thank all who voted for Spud. His award is
proudly displayed below and linked to 'The Cats Corner'.

Spud learned what holidays are really about!! He dressed for Halloween, ate
turkey at Thanksgiving, and Christmas ~~~ was truly his favorite!! The other
furkids at our home have always been soooooooooo good. Spud on the other hand,
is not at all like them!! We use the water bottle method to train our furkids.
It is very hard to train a kitty that really 'likes' to be squirted!! He liked
our Christmas tree so much that he just had to climb it on a regular basis. The
bows on the gifts were put there just for him. And the many decorations placed
around the home were nothing more than new toys for Spud. We made it through
the holidays with no breakage, which was a surprise for us!! And, Spud had
great holidays this year ~ how can anyone even be angry with such a cute face?

Our little Spud is getting so big, but is still such an active kitten. His best
friend, and mentor, is still Fox. His sister, Scully and him have a very
special relationship. Spud is the little 'bully' and Scully hisses a lot, but
puts up with his chasing her, and jumping on her. Lately there has been less
hissing and it appears that Scully has even started instigating some of this
'play'. Spud is just such an active, lovable little fellow. He knows how to
charm his humans and all other humans who come into his home.
